Atiku vows to continue running for presidency in 2027
Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 2023, has expressed his determination to continue contesting for the presidency as long as he remains healthy.
Speaking during an interview with the Hausa service of the Voice of America in Abuja, Atiku emphasized his commitment to running for office multiple times, drawing inspiration from former US President Abraham Lincoln, who contested seven times before winning.
However, Atiku acknowledged that winning the election would require more than just his individual effort, highlighting the need for strong support and collaboration with other political parties.
Despite his ambition, Atiku recognized the challenges within the PDP and stressed the importance of unity and forming alliances with other political groups to secure victory in the 2027 presidential election.

At the age of 81 during the next election, Atiku has already made several attempts at the presidency, appearing on the ballot as a presidential candidate in 2007, 2019, and 2023.
Drawing inspiration from Abraham Lincoln’s journey to the presidency, Atiku remains undeterred by previous unsuccessful attempts and is determined to continue his pursuit of the highest office in Nigeria.
Amid speculation of forming a coalition with other political parties, Atiku recently met with Peter Obi, the presidential candidate for the Labour Party (LP).
Addressing concerns about potential conflicts between them, Atiku assured that there would be no misunderstandings and expressed his support for any candidate chosen to represent their collective interests in the upcoming elections.
With a focus on unity and collaboration, Atiku aims to strengthen his chances of winning the presidency in 2027 by building alliances and fostering a cohesive front within the PDP and beyond.
