Atiku visits Buhari in Daura days after meeting with former Nigerian leaders

Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 election, visited former President Muhammadu Buhari.

Atiku honoured Buhari on Saturday at his home in Daura, Katsina State.

According to a video of the visit obtained by Obasanjonews.com, Atiku’s company included Aminu Tambuwal, the former governor of Sokoto State.

Barely three days have passed since Atiku paid visits to the homes of former military leaders of state, Ibrahim Babangida and Abdulsalami Abubakar, in Minna, Niger State.

“Today, I paid Sallah homage to former Heads of State Gen. Ibrahim Babangida (rtd) and Gen. Abdusalami at their residences in Minna, Niger State,” Atiku had written in a post on X, announcing the earlier visits.

The visits have intensified rumours that Atiku is getting ready to run for president in 2027.

Atiku had promised in May to keep running for president for as long as he is well.

He made the announcement in the midst of efforts to unite with Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s equivalent, and other political groups.
