Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar has urged opposition parties to unite against the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2023.

Atiku stated that the APC was forcing Nigeria into a one-party state and dictatorship, and that the other political parties ought to unite into a coalition.

On Tuesday, Atiku gave a speech while hosting a delegation from the Inter-Party Advisory Council’s (IPAC) national executive committee.

The former vice president stated that in the absence of a strong opposition, Nigeria’s democracy will suffer.

As said by Atiku: “You have come here today to declare that cooperation is necessary to advance democracy.

However, the reality is that our democracy is quickly turning into a one-party system, and as you are aware, once we have a one-party system, democracy should really be abandoned.

“As everyone has witnessed, the APC is progressively transforming Nigeria into a one-party dictatorship.
