Atiku Abubakar, a former vice president, provided an explanation for the errors on his Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) transcript on Tuesday.
Through Dele Momodu, Atiku provided the clarification in a post on his X account.
Remember how a group had given Peter Obi bi and Atiku a seven-day deadline to make their academic records public or risk legal action to force the disclosure?
Momodu claims that his principal was the target of forgery allegations made by members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), which led to the need for the clarification.

In contrast to his other credentials, Momodu claimed that some APC members had questioned the name “Sadiq Abubakar” on Atiku’s WAEC certificate.
Momodu claimed he sent the claims to Atiku, who also offered an explanation for the inconsistency.
“The APC busybodies have been barraged me with forgery allegations against my Principal, ALHAJI ATIKU ABUBAKAR (GCON), which I immediately forwarded to him and here is his copious response,” Momodu said. “Yes, I used Sadiq Abubakar to take my WAEC exams, and after I passed them, I went to swear an affidavit to prove that I was ATIKU Abubakar.
“I attended ABU under the name Atiku Abuakar and completed my exams under that name. The Federal Civil Service Commission conducted an interview with Atiku Abubakar, who was thereafter employed as Atiku Abubakar by the Customs Service. Where then is forgery? ATIU ABUBAKAR.
