Former President Obasanjo, Atiku Abubakar, and key political figures, including Tambuwal, meet behind closed doors in Abeokuta. Details remain undisclosed.
On Monday, Atiku Abubakar, the former presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), met with former President Olusegun Obasanjo.
Atiku headed a delegation to visit Obasanjo at the former Nigerian leader’s residence in Abeokuta, the capital of Ogun State.
The former vice president was joined by Liyel Imoke, the former Governor of Cross River State, and Senator Aminu Tambuwal, a past governor of Sokoto State.
As of the time of reporting, the agenda for the meeting remained undisclosed. However, it coincides with efforts by opposition politicians to strategize on forming an alliance aimed at challenging and defeating the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 presidential election.
Atiku recently welcomed Peter Obi, the former presidential candidate of the Labour Party, to his residence in Adamawa State.
