Atiku, Kwankwaso, and Obi should unite to form a formidable opposition – Bode George
Bode George, the former deputy national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has urged the three opposition presidential candidates to form a coalition in the general elections of 2023 to create a formidable alternative to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Regarding the issues surrounding the recent off-cycle elections in the states of Bayelsa, Kogi, and Imo, the PDP chieftain stated that the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Peter Obi of the Labour Party, and Atiku Abubakar of the PDP needed to unite in order to form a more formidable opposition force to President Ahmed Bola Tinubu.
“As the opposition, we must turn inward and look in the mirror,” he declared. Let’s return to the party’s constitution. All members should put aside their differences, face reality regarding power, and reorganise the party. Atiku came from where? PDC. Kwankwaso, what about him? PDC. How about Obi, then? PDC.
“Let’s go back and review the original draught of the constitution, drafted by the founding fathers.” We went off course and split apart as a home. Furthermore, a house that is divided can never win. We ought to put aside our desire to be the best and focus on becoming the base. What actions did we take that violated everyone’s rights? Let’s go back to how things were initially done, rearrange, and steer clear of these errors moving forward.
Prior to the general elections of 2023, there were a few issues. While some of us tried to persuade, explain, and beg, it was unsuccessful. Which party would be in the villa by now if all three were all members of the same party, according to the election results?
Let’s make a decision immediately. And with God’s grace, we shall make a decision. To become one and return to where we were, we will sit down, put an end to our disagreements, and work things out. so that we are capable of providing a strong defence.
