Asari Dokubo, a Niger Delta activist, has explained why he decided to support Asiwaju Bola Tinubu as the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the upcoming 2023 presidential elections.
Dokubo said that the APC presidential candidate is far ahead of the other candidates for the position on Friday while appearing on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily.
He said that he supported the former governor of Lagos because of Tinubu’s prior accomplishments.
He said on Friday, “I am with Tinubu for the presidential election because I witnessed what he achieved in Lagos State and the legacies he left behind.
He said that Tinubu had a significant impact on the growth of Lagos State and the transformation of the former Nigerian capital.
The former Niger-Delta militant said that Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) presidential nominee, lacked leadership skills and that the former vice president was nothing more than a spare tire.
“Lagos, which used to resemble a large slum and a junkyard, has evolved into a worldwide hub and one of Africa’s largest economies.
Someone began it, someone set the groundwork, he insisted.
He asserted that those who assert the opposite should be aware that there are individuals who disagree with the government, even in the world’s largest cities. This, he insisted, is to be anticipated in a city like Lagos where the APC nominee has been successful in building a solid foundation.
While he claimed that Tinubu’s rivals Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Peter Obi of the Labour Party were both former governors and in the same category, he said that Atiku Abubakar of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) lacked such a qualification.
“Atiku has never managed executive power in reality. He had an additional tire. He was a vice president, according to Dokubo.
