Methinks that all well-intentioned Nigerians ought to be perplexed at Tinubu’s claim that he didn’t complete his primary or secondary school but holds a university degree, just as I am.
Concerns about President Bola Tinubu’s academic achievements have been raised by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.
Atiku, the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) presidential candidate for the general elections of 2023, is contesting Tinubu’s election and has questioned the former governor of Lagos State’s academic credentials on X, formerly known as Twitter.
“I wondered how we arrived at this cul-de-sac when I woke up this morning. Before moving on to Children’s Home School in Ibadan, @officialABAT stated he attended St. John’s Primary School in Aroloya, Lagos, in 1999. He said that Government College Ibadan, Richard Daley College, and Chicago State University in the United States were his following stops on the road to a college education. Oddly, Tinubu decided to just attend @ChicagoState in 2023,” he tweeted on Sunday.
“I’m racking my brain. How is that even doable? Methinks that Tinubu’s claim that he had no elementary or secondary education, although holding a university degree, should be perplexing to all well-meaning Nigerians in the same way that it is to me. You might want to ask Tinubu how he managed to pull off this accomplishment so we might benefit from his creativity.
He made this statement while the Presidential Elections Petitions Tribunal (PEPT) withheld judgement in the petitions brought by Atiku and Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP) contesting Tinubu’s election as president of Nigeria by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
According to the results announced by the electoral umpire, Atiku finished second to Tinubu while Obi finished third.
