Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) nominee for president, has refuted claims that he supported Bola Tinubu’s election.
The presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, beat Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, Atiku of the Labour Party, LP, and Peter Obi.
Atiku said in a statement on Saturday that he was made aware of a false press release that was “purportedly legitimising the heavily manipulated presidential election.”
Because it was created “by those who fraudulently usurped the mandate of the people,” Atiku emphasised that it did not come from him and should be rejected.

The former vice president said that the February 25 election’s results were still subject to contest by his attorneys.
Atiku reaffirmed his vehement opposition to the “pre-determined outcome of the February 25 election” and pledged to keep questioning its legitimacy.
The Wazirin Adamawa described it as the “worst election in our democratic history” and said that Nigeria and its people were his true targets in his struggle, not his own interests.
According to the statement, “it aims to expand democracy and make sure we do not lend legitimacy to an outcome of illegitimacy.”
