Adams Oshiomhole, a former national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), claims that either Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP) or Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) lied in order to win the presidential election last Saturday.
Both Atiku and Obi held separate press conferences where they each claimed victory in the race after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced on Wednesday that Bola Tinubu of the APC had won the election.
Nevertheless, Oshiomhole, who won the Edo North senatorial race on Saturday, claimed on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Thursday that the two rival opposition presidential candidates are accusing one another of rigging the poll.
“One of them must be lying between His Excellency Atiku Abubakar and His Excellency Peter Obi, my very close buddy. That is evident from the statements made by Obi, who placed third, and Atiku, who finished second, who claimed to have won, Oshiomhole stated.

“Therefore, between the two of them, they must be attempting to rig each other out; hence, one of them must be lying, and when they appear in court, I’m sure that will be one thing that will be evident when you have two people claiming victory. Hence, he continued, “they are essentially accusing one another of cheating them out of even the second spot.
Nonetheless, the former governor of Edo State praised the two presidential candidates, adding that they behaved properly by adhering to the law and putting the needs of the nation first.
The APC leader insisted that Tinubu was the only candidate to lose his state and that the presidential election was legitimate. He asserted that no election in Nigeria had gone uncontested, with the exception of the 2015 election, in which President Goodluck Jonathan declared defeat.
