Bola Tinubu, the presidential candidate for the All Progressives Congress, has named Peter Obi of the Labour Party and Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party as his two main opponents in the 2023 elections.
Atiku and Obi were disparaged by Tinubu while speaking to supporters at a rally on Saturday in Akure, Ondo State, calling the former “Mr. Privatize” and the latter “Mr. Stingy.”
Governors Oluwarotimi Akeredolu of Ondo, Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos, Dapo Abiodun of Ogun, Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano, former governor Gboyega Oyetola of Osun State, and APC National Secretary Iyiola Omisore, who spoke on behalf of National Chairman Abdullahi Adamu, were all at the rally, which drew a large crowd.
“On February 25, I know you will be a champion of progressive politics again,” the APC candidate added. The nation and each and every one of us have a meeting with destiny on that day.
We not only need to make that appointment, but we also need to leave it fully committed to building a society that is more wealthy, secure, tolerant, and vibrant.
But none of these things happen by chance. These are only a few of the benefits that only a democratic and progressive administration can bring about.
Only someone who has previously exercised progressive government can provide you with such governance.
Atiku was criticised by Tinubu for not being able to pull it off.
He is unwilling to put in the courage and effort necessary to create a better country. He would rather take the money and flee, selling your birthright to the highest bidder.
He gives little thought to the fact that his decisions may cause you to suffer poverty and lose everything.
Tinubu said that the Labour Party candidate, Obi, had a chance to show how progressive he could be when he was governor of Anambra State.
“All he could do was brag about the money he had saved. But I will tell you that a parent who has money in his pocket and still allows his kids to go hungry is a nasty one.
The governor is also callous since he withheld funds while people went without food and clinics, schools, and roads fell into ruin. Under him, neither the city dweller nor the farmer flourished.
In the end, he declined to save the people because he thought saving money would be more rewarding. And he declares himself to be a member of the labour party. If you believe he will perform better for the country than he did for the state of Anambra, you must be suffering from a severe delusion. Buyers should be wary of salespeople who provide bogus goods.
“One observation reveals the real difference between my style of leadership and Mr. Obi’s.” Despite the fact that Anambra has plenty of room compared to crowded Lagos, more individuals left Obi’s Anambra in search of a better life in Tinubu’s Lagos than left Lagos believing Obi had laid the groundwork for Anambra’s development.
“My compatriots, you cannot put Mr. Sell Everything Atiku or Mr. Stingy Obi in charge of your destiny or the future of our country.” But you can count on Mr. Progressive Good Governance Tinubu.
Speaking about his plans for the state of Ondo, Tinubu remarked that the region’s past was one of hardworking farmers who had for years sown prosperity through well-tended cocoa plantations and other agricultural endeavours.
He said that his agricultural policy would help the farmer get back to his respected and important place in society.
“You have served as the foundation of the neighbourhood and the economy.” You will be treated with respect.
He reiterated his government’s plan to reinstate commodity exchange boards so that farmers could receive a fixed price for their harvests.
He said that if his government gets the chance to run this country, it will help the country make the most of its many resources.
“My agriculture plan, for instance, also calls for the establishment of agricultural centres across the country.” This policy’s primary beneficiary will be you. These hubs will support agro-processing firms that will create many new jobs and put more money in the hands of the average citizen and small farmer, as well as increase the cultivation of currently uncultivated fertile land, he said.
“Our economic strategy will make smart investments in industry and infrastructure. This will give our smart people a chance to make a good living while making things that will improve the lives of those who buy them,” Tinubu said.
“Your natural resources will be used more thoroughly.” Your oil and gas must result in growth, wealth, and employment.
“However, that’s not all.” Under my leadership, bitumen, granite, and marble must be mined locally and processed into finished goods.
Akeredolu, the governor of Ondo State, said that the progressive people in the state had decided to fully back Aswaj Tinubu. He also said, “We will show who we are on February 25, 2023.”
Omisore thanked the people of the state and the governor for showing that they were behind Tinubu and the APC.
