NDLEA detains Saudi-bound female carrying cocaine
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has detained Mrs. Ajisegiri Kehinde Sidika, a 56-year-old widow and mother of four children.
She was apprehended at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos as she tried to smuggle 400g of cocaine to Makkah, Saudi Arabia, hidden in her shoes.
The suspect claimed to be an entrepreneur that operated off of Lagos Island, dealing in both adult and kid’s clothing.
She was getting on a Qatar Airways aircraft that would take her from Doha to Saudi Arabia.
Additionally, attempts to transfer 1kg of Tramadol 225mg and Rohypnol to Istanbul, Turkey through Cairo on an Egypt Airline aircraft were unsuccessful by a tricycle parts vendor named Ayoade Kehinde Tayo.
She was detained by NDLEA agents at the airport as She attempted to give Idowu Ayoade, a prospective passenger, the narcotics that were concealed within a bag of groceries.
Additionally, anti-narcotics officials stationed at the airport’s SAHCO export shed stopped drug dealers from smuggling packages containing marijuana and ecstasy tablets.
Last Wednesday, three yam tubers headed to Dubai, United Arab Emirates, contained narcotics.
Inegbu Ugochi Akunna, the freight agent who delivered the yams for shipment, was instantly detained, and the consignor, Ahmodu Sulaimon, was detained as well.
