Former Niger Delta militant leader Asari Dokubo has expressed his frustration and disappointment with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, accusing him of betrayal despite having supported Tinubu during his campaign.

Dokubo asserts that he has invested significant personal resources to assist Tinubu in securing the presidency, with the expectation that the administration would align with his vision for Nigeria.

In the past, Dokubo had openly supported Tinubu and encouraged Nigerians to hold him responsible if his administration did not meet expectations.

Now, however, he openly voices his dissatisfaction with the President’s actions while in office, indicating a change from his earlier position.

“The Tinubu I once knew is not the same as the one I know now,” Dokubo remarked, indicating a change in their relationship and implying that his expectations for support from the administration have fallen short.

He proceeded to discuss plans for forming alliances with Northern leaders, indicating a possible shift in his political partnerships.

I intend to collaborate and establish an alliance with the North. President Tinubu betrayed me after I exhaustively funded his campaign, depleting my bank account in support of him. The current Tinubu is not the same person I once knew.

Former Niger Delta militant leader Mujahid Asari-Dokubo once stated that, despite having a longstanding relationship with President Bola Tinubu, he is not seeking a federal appointment.
