Ahmed Ololade, better known by his stage name Asake, is a Nigerian artist who recently shared his ideal musical pairing.
In an interview with Billboard News, the singer of “Sungba” said that multibillionaire American rapper Kanye West is his ideal collaborator.
He stated that he prefers to collaborate with musicians he knows.
“For me, I have to like the person before I can make music with them,” Asake stated. I need to feel at ease around you. not even as a result of the music.
“I’m not denying that I can collaborate on songs with others, but I like actual energy. It’s good if you like me besides for the music. However, I must enjoy your music and the person I wish to collaborate with in order for there to be no issues. Synergy is required.
“I have been expressing this since; perhaps God will act. I’d like to collaborate with Kanye [West].
Regarding the massive global growth of the afrobeats genre, he stated, “It is like having a kid and watching your baby develop. You know, having anything nearby that is growing makes you feel wonderful.
“It [afrobeats] will be bigger in a few years.”
