According to the Kherson province governor, two persons were murdered and three others were injured by Russian bombings on Sunday, as the conflict in Ukraine entered its twentieth month.
Oleksandr Prokudin, the governor of Beryslav, claimed that Russian forces attacked the city and demolished an unknown number of private homes. According to him, a police officer was among the three injured, along with a woman who was slain.
Without providing further details regarding the weapons employed in the attack, Prokudin reported that a second airstrike also claimed the life of a 67-year-old man near the village of Lvove.
The two affected settlements are situated in the Ukrainian-controlled section of the Kherson region, where the Dnieper River, which divides the province in half, has served as a battle line ever since Russian soldiers crossed it in November 2022, a withdrawal that increased the invading nation’s morale.
The Russians reassembled on the eastern bank of the river and frequently shelled the towns and settlements on the other side, notably Kherson, the regional capital that had been seized by the Ukrainian army more than 10 months earlier but had since been returned to Russian control.
According to regional governor Roman Starovoit, a Ukrainian drone struck an office building in Kursk, Russia, and “insignificantly damaged” the roof. No casualties were reported, nor was it mentioned what was held in the facility.
Unverified media sources from Russia and Ukraine claimed that it was the Federal Security Service, popularly known as the FSB, which is the country’s primary security organisation, and its offices in Kursk.
A common target of assaults is the Russian region of Kursk, which borders Ukraine. As locals celebrated the foundation anniversary of the regional capital on Sunday, a drone attack occurred.
Although they often deny responsibility for assaults on Russian territory, the Ukrainian authorities made no immediate comments.
