A major oil magnate named Prince Arthur Eze has said that the best candidate for Ndigbo will come from the north.

According to Eze, Ndigbo support for a northern candidate will allow them to form the critical alliance required for the region’s residents to take power soon.

The well-known philanthropist shocked many two weeks ago when he declared that he would not support Mr. Peter Obi, the presidential candidate for the Labour Party. He added that Eze had warned Obi during a private visit that he was not capable of winning the election.

Eze requested support for the PDP’s Alhaji Atiku Abubakar during a weekend visit to the Director General of the Atiku/Okowa Presidential Campaign Council in Anambra, Prof. Obiora Okonkwo, at his country residence in Ogidi.

He said that his administration, led by Atiku, will free Nigeria and benefit the South East more than any other part of the nation.

“I implore the people of the South-East to maintain the strategic alliance by backing Atiku Abubakar in the polls in February. The long-standing partnership between the North and the South has traditionally benefited the region politically in a variety of ways.

“I have known Atiku Abubakar to be an upright, liberal, and pan-Nigerian who strives for the best for the country and is committed to the revival of the Igbo.

“Since selecting Senator Ben Ndi Obi in 2007, Peter Obi in 2019, and now Ifeanyi Okowa, an Igbo guy from Delta State, he has consistently chosen an Igbo man to be his running mate, demonstrating his deep love and concern for us ndi-Igbo. Only Atiku Abubakar agreed to such conditions, but he was willing to scale back his ambitions provided the ticket was micro-zoned to the South-East.
