Arsenal navigated through the challenge of a north London derby and a tense conclusion to sustain their momentum in the race for the Premier League title with a crucial win against Tottenham.

The Gunners capitalized on defensive weaknesses in Spurs’ lineup to secure a commanding three-goal lead by halftime, despite the match being considered one of their toughest remaining fixtures.

However, Arsenal faced a setback when a poor clearance by goalkeeper David Raya allowed Cristian Romero to score for Tottenham in the 64th minute, leading to increased anxiety among the Arsenal supporters.

The nerves escalated further when Heung-Min Son converted a penalty in the dying minutes of normal time after Declan Rice fouled Ben Davies, adding to the tension of the match.

The game started on a positive note for Arsenal as Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg inadvertently scored an own goal from Bukayo Saka’s corner in the 15th minute, followed by a well-executed finish by Saka himself in the 27th minute after a swift counter-attack.

Spurs, on the other hand, were left frustrated by a disallowed goal for Micky van de Ven due to a marginal offside call, and contentious claims of a foul on Dejan Kulusevski before Saka’s goal.

The frustration mounted as Kai Havertz scored Arsenal’s third goal from a corner just before halftime, leaving Spurs trailing.

Arsenal were satisfied with maintaining their lead and securing the victory, but their plans were disrupted when Raya made a mistake by sending a clearance directly to Romero, giving Tottenham Hotspur a glimmer of hope.

Despite the odds, Tottenham Hotspur appeared to be mounting an unexpected comeback when Son successfully converted a penalty kick.

However, Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal managed to regain control and successfully navigate the remainder of the game to secure the win.
