The individual at the centre of the investigation, Haruna Kolo, has been placed under arrest by the House of Representatives Committee looking into claims of employment racketeering in the Federal Character Commission (FCC).
Kolo failed to show up for the hearing once more, so Yusuf Gagdi, the Committee Chairman, ordered the warrant for his arrest on Thursday.
It will be noted that Kolo testified before the Committee and confessed to receiving cash from job seekers on behalf of FCC Chairman Muheeba Dankaka.
Kolo said at the court on Monday that he had received millions from many applicants and given it to Ms. Dankaka.
On the other hand, since Monday he has declined to return to the Committee.
The Committee Chairman addressed Kolo’s absence and instructed the clerk to start the procedure for obtaining an arrest warrant.
He urged the arrest of Kolo and his presentation to the Committee on Monday by the pertinent security agencies.
“This committee believes that Haruna Kolo would forfeit his freedom. If Haruna Kolo is detained, we will issue an arrest warrant for him and require security authorities to bring him before this committee at any time, he said.
Following then, the committee postponed the investigation until Monday.
