Arrest made in Lagos after man found with pistol

Toibu Hassan, 25, has been detained by the police in Lagos State on suspicion of possessing a handgun.

SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the state’s police spokesperson, posted on his X handle, @benHundeyin, on Saturday confirming the arrest.

He claimed that the guy was taken into custody on Saturday in the state’s Agege region.

Officers from the Elere Division detained 25-year-old Toibu Hassan under the Agege Pen-Cinema Bridge at 6 a.m. today. One locally manufactured handgun and one spent cartridge were found during the search, according to the police spokesperson.

He claims that there is still an investigation going on.
