Arrest made as American rapper, Rod Wave, found with firearm

Rod Wave, the American singer and rapper, was taken into custody for allegedly having a firearm in his possession, as per official reports.

The arrest took place in Manatee County, Florida, on a Wednesday, as documented in the arrest records.

Following the arrest, the St. Petersburg Police Department held a press conference where they claimed that Rod Wave was involved in a shooting incident linked to a gang in Florida, resulting in injuries to four individuals outside Sonic Sports Bar in St. Petersburg.

The unfortunate event occurred on Sunday, March 31, leading to the arrest of three suspects, Christopher Atkins, Keith Westby, and Kevontre Wesby, who are believed to have ties to the Young Gangsters gang, with two more individuals expected to be apprehended soon.

Despite the allegations made by law enforcement, Rod Wave’s legal representatives, Bradford Cohen and Mark Rankin, have vehemently denied any wrongdoing on the part of the rapper, stating that there was no concrete evidence to support the charges against him.

Through a statement shared on Instagram, the attorneys of Rod Wave clarified that he was not in possession of a firearm at the time of his arrest, emphasizing his innocence in the matter.
