Army saves 386 individuals from Sambisa forest decade post-kidnapping
No fewer than 386 individuals, primarily women and children, have been saved by the Nigerian Army in the Sambisa forest after being abducted for a decade.
Brig. Gen. AGL Haruna, the acting GOC 7 Division, revealed this information during a press conference at the outskirts of Sambisa forest in Konduga LGA.
He explained that the 10-day operation, known as “Operation Desert Sanity 111,” aimed to eliminate all categories of terrorists in the forest and provide an opportunity for those willing to surrender to do so.

Haruna expressed confidence that more individuals would surrender as the operation progressed.
He commended the troops for their professionalism and urged them to maintain their high level of performance.
The operation involved the participation of troops from the 21 Special Armoured Brigade, 26 Task Force Brigade, and 199 Special Forces.
