Army captures suspected mastermind behind the killing of Fulani leader in Plateau

In Lagos State, the Army’s Operation Safe Haven (OPSH) Tactical Team apprehended Philip Gokas, popularly known as Jaykimo, for the Fulani leader Adamu Idris Gabdo’s murder in the Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State.

His imprisonment, according to the army, followed weeks of intense manhunting that resulted in his tracking and final capture in the state’s Ogba region.

At a football viewing area, the man was caught drinking beer.

The army claims that Gokas acknowledged the act and provided crucial information that will help apprehend those involved in the late Fulani leader’s death.

“Operation SAFE HAVEN (OPSH) Tactical Team forces have captured the primary mastermind behind the assassination of the deceased Alhaji Adamu Idris Gabdo, the Ardo of Panyam in the Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State. Mr. Philip Gokas, popularly known as Jaykimo, was apprehended in Lagos State after a protracted manhunt that lasted weeks in an attempt to apprehend the offender.His tracking and eventual arrest in the Ogba district of Lagos State, where he was discovered having fun and drinking beer at a football viewing centre, were made possible by OPSH’s unrelenting pursuit of him, the army said in a statement.

“The successful collaboration of OPSH and the unwavering dedication of Mr. Philip Gokas is demonstrated by his arrest. In addition to providing vital information that will help in the imminent arrest of more suspects in this horrific conduct, Mr. Gokas has completely admitted to the crime. The Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. CG Musa, has urged security services to use all available means of national authority to hold criminals accountable, and this development serves as a clear signal to them that they cannot evade punishment.
