Armed Forces Remembrance Day: Tinubu, Govs, and Nigerians pay tribute to the fallen heroes
President Bola Tinubu participated in the wreath-laying ceremony alongside other notable individuals to commemorate the 2024 Armed Forces Remembrance Day in Abuja.
This annual event serves as a tribute to Nigeria’s fallen heroes and includes various activities such as prayers, gun salutes, and the release of pigeons at the National Arcade, Eagle Square, Abuja.
The ceremony was attended by members of the Federal Executive Council, the diplomatic corps, and other dignitaries.
Senate President Godswill Akpabio expressed the lawmakers’ commitment to improving the welfare of the country’s military.
Similarly, Governor Kefas Agbu led a wreath-laying ceremony in Taraba State, while Governor Godwin Obaseki inspected a guard of honor in Benin City, and Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu laid wreaths at Tafawa Balewa Square in Lagos. Additionally, political figures like Peter Obi of the Labour Party paid tribute to the fallen heroes, acknowledging their sacrifices in ensuring a secure Nigeria.
