Appeal Court sets date for hearing of Nasarawa governorship dispute
The Court of Appeal located in Abuja has scheduled a hearing for Wednesday, November 15, in relation to the appeal filed by All Progressives Congress governor of Nasarawa Abdullahi Sule. The appeal challenges the ruling of the tribunal that resulted in his dismissal from office.
In a divided ruling, the Nasarsawa electoral tribunal ruled that David Ombugadu, the PDP candidate for the March 18 election, was the legitimate victor and declared Sule’s victory to be void.
The hearing in the lawsuit “Between Sule Audu Alhaji VS Dr. Emmanuel David Ombugadu & 3 ors Appeal NO CA/ MK/EP/GOV/NS/30/2023” is scheduled for November 15, 2023, at 9:00 a.m. at the Court of Appeal, Abuja Division, Holden in Abuja.
The state governor, Governor Sule, his party, the APC, the opposition PDP and its candidate, and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) are all parties to the lawsuit.
