The New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) in Kano has been charged by the All Progressive Congress (APC) for attempting to incite unrest and ignite calm Kano through a series of orchestrated but unsuccessful protests.

The APC further charged that by funding protests throughout the city, the NNPP had broken the terms of the Peace Accord that was signed at the Police Headquarters.

In an interview with reporters on Wednesday, Dr. Musa Kwankwaso, a devoted APC member and past candidate for the House of Representatives from Madobi, Kura, Garun Mallam, claimed that the NNPP is exploiting protests to incite unneeded conflict where none exists.

He claimed that after Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf was removed from office by the Appeal Court in Abuja, it is now necessary to bring the public’s attention to the NNPP’s chaotic activities.

“We are all aware that the Elections Petitions Tribunal declared the All Progressives Congress (APC) the winner of the March 18, 2023, Governorship Election, and that Dr. Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna was declared the duly elected Governor of Kano State. The Appeal Court has affirmed this decision in addition to the ruling that Abba Kabir Yusuf was not a member of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) at the time of his state-wide contest.” he reminded everyone.

However, the Kwankwasiyya Movement and the NNPP, who are unhappy with the ruling, have engaged in extensive propaganda, demeaning the court and attempting to incite political unrest in Kano.

“By sponsoring isolated protests and rallies throughout the city, they have disseminated false information that Kano State is experiencing severe tension. This is against the terms of the Peace Accord, which was recently signed at the Police Command and which forbids these kinds of public gatherings.”

“I want to be very clear that the calm and peaceful atmosphere in Kano, where everyone is going about their daily lives, is proof that there isn’t any tension in the state; instead, the sponsored protests are being used to fabricate a false impression of problems in the state,” he continued.

“In the interim, the NNPP is squandering Kano’s limited resources chasing shadows by pursuing national political concerns that are based in Nigerian laws to the US, EU, ECOWAS, and other regions rather than waiting for the ruling of the country’s Supreme Court.

The NNPP is funding innocent kids to incite conflict and instability in the state, which is the worst part of this situation. After illegally wrecking billions of Naira’s worth of property, they are not letting the swarming masses rest again.

He cautioned that the Kano people are not amenable to being persuaded by sponsored protests because they think that power belongs to Allah, who bestows it on whomever he pleases and takes it away from anyone he pleases.

The people of Kano support Ganduje, Gawuna, and the APC. All of the protests they are holding are phoney and are being staged with the specific goal of inflaming the political climate and inciting unwarranted conflict where none exists. We won the election, and the court found the fraudulent votes they had secretly cast during the polls and annulled them.
