Denis Agbo, the member representing Enugu State’s Udenu/Igboeze North federal constituency, was dismissed by the Court of Appeal located in Lagos State.

According to OBASANJONEWS24, Agbo was elected on the Labour Party platform.

Delivering its ruling via Zoom on Friday, the court addressed the appeal of Oby Ajih, the candidate for the All Progressives Congress. It ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission to hold a new election for all parties concerned in less than 90 days.

Ajih had gone to the appellate court to contest the tribunal’s decision that the election did not follow the proper procedure since her party’s emblem was not in the EC8A format.

In a ruling that lasted less than thirty minutes, the appellate court determined that the appeal had validity and overturned the tribunal’s decision.

They said that it is against the electoral statute for the result sheet (form EC8A) to have the APC’s logo missing.
