Appeal Court confirms Inuwa Yahaya as the elected Gombe Gov
On Thursday, the Gombe State governor, Inuwa Yahaya of the All Progressives Congress (APC), was formally recognised by the Court of Appeal in Abuja as the duly elected official.
The PDP candidate Jibrin Barde filed an appeal to challenge the results of the state’s March 18 gubernatorial election, but the appellate court dismissed it as without merit in a unanimous decision by a three-member panel of justices.

The Gombe State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal validated Yahaya’s election as governor on September 23. The court could not find any reason to reverse this ruling.
