The Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Kolapo Alimi, had stated that this step was necessary to ensure responsible and honest governance in the state.
However, the APC Chairman, Tajudeen Lawal, believes that this committee is a tactic to suppress the opposition and give the governor dictatorial powers.
Lawal argues that the committee is an afterthought aimed at instilling fear in citizens who have questioned the alleged awarding of N50bn public road contracts to unqualified companies.
The APC vows to resist any repressive policies through legal means and asserts that they will not surrender their rights as a credible opposition.
