APC Thwarts Another Bid by ‘Kano Government’ to Employ Non-Party Members in Ganduje’s Suspension
The attempt by certain members of the New Nigeria People’s Party-led Kano State government to suspend the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje, has been thwarted once again by the APC.
Previously, individuals claiming to be APC members in Ganduje ward, who were allegedly loyal to the NNPP government, had announced the suspension of the APC national chairman. However, this move was later dismissed by a Federal High Court in Kano.
On Sunday, another group of pro-NNPP politicians, who identified themselves as factional APC executives in Ganduje ward, Dawakin Tofa local government area, emerged and falsely announced the suspension of the national chairman.
In response, the authentic Ganduje APC ward executives, led by chairman Ahmed Muhammed Ganduje and secretary Usaini Jibrin, issued a statement denouncing the individuals behind the fake suspension, stating that they were not party members. The statement clarified that no new election had taken place for the leadership of the party in Ganduje ward.
The sponsored group had used a fake or uncertified letterhead to create a list of non-existent party executives. Furthermore, it was revealed that the leader of the group announcing the suspension was an NNPP member who had unsuccessfully contested the councilorship election in Ganduje ward.
The executive members of the APC called on the national body of the party and security agencies to apprehend and prosecute the group for impersonation and their deliberate attempt to sow discord within the party. They also urged party members to disregard such propaganda aimed at disrupting the party.
