The All Progressives Congress (APC) has secured victory in all 23 chairmanship and 255 councillorship positions in the recently concluded Kaduna Local Government elections, further solidifying its dominance in the state.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) secured victory in all 23 chairmanship and 255 councilorship positions during the local government election held on Saturday, as organized by the Kaduna State Independent Electoral Commission (KAD-SIECOM).

Announcing the results, Hajara Mohammed, the chairperson of the commission, stated that eight political parties participated in the elections. The APC secured 23 chairmanship positions and 255 councillorship seats.

She mentioned that the ruling APC secured victories in several local governments, such as Birnin-Gwari, Chikun, Igabi, Ikara, Jaba, Jema’a, Kachia, Kaduna North and South.

According to the Chairman, the APC also secured victories in several other local governments: Kagarko, Kajuru, Kaura, Kuaru, Kubau, Kudan, Lere, Makarfi, Sabon Gari,Sanga Soba Zango-Kataf and Zaria.

Shortly after casting his vote at polling unit O47, LEA Kawo in Kaduna North Local Government Area, the Governor of Kaduna State, Uba Sani, spoke about his satisfaction with the peaceful conduct of elections throughout the state.

He observed that the elections were largely free, fair, and peaceful, with just a few minor issues reported in three polling units and wards.

The governor highlighted the significance of local government elections, noting that voter turnout across all 23 local government areas was satisfactory.

The leadership of the Inter-party Advisory Council (IPAC) Kaduna chapter characterized the election as predominantly peaceful and transparent, even though there were delays in the arrival of voting materials in certain areas.
