The Kogi governorship election is on November 11, and the All Progressives Congress, or APC, has halted its campaign.
The election campaign was put on hold out of respect for Ms. Khadijat Yahaya, a party member who passed away following an attack by alleged thugs.
This was said in a statement released on Tuesday by Mr. Kingsley Fanwo, the State Campaign Council’s spokesperson.
According to reports, Khadijat was killed on September 29 in Kotonkarfe after a fight between Social Democratic Party (SDP) and APC supporters.
Alhaji Usman Ododo, the state’s APC governorship candidate, visited the deceased’s family on Tuesday in Kotonkarfe to express his condolences for her passing.
Ododo expressed shock at her passing and prayed to God for God to grant her soul peace.
