APC Stalwart Claims Tinubu’s Government Has Worsened Nigeria’s Problems
An APC stalwart criticizes President Tinubu’s administration, arguing that its policies have intensified Nigeria’s ongoing challenges.
Joseph Odok, a prominent member of the All Progressives Congress in Cross River State, has asserted that Nigerians have experienced heightened economic difficulties under President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
In a statement released in Calabar, Odok remarked, “It’s evident that the policies of the current federal government have only worsened Nigerians’ economic struggles.”
He stated that the policies and governance have not relieved the hardships but rather intensified the suffering in the country.
He expressed that rather than celebrating these misguided decisions, Nigerians should be demanding greater accountability and effective solutions to their economic challenges.
Odok further observed that the nation is grappling with severe financial difficulties, widespread hunger, and poverty. “Still,” he remarked, “the current administration wants us to praise their actions as though they are accomplishments.”
The analyst condemned the elimination of the fuel subsidy, which current officials now criticize the previous administration for.
Isn’t it shocking that even after removing the fuel subsidy, they’re borrowing more than the previous administration did?
They previously informed us that eliminating the fuel subsidy was essential to protect future generations.
With the removal of fuel subsidies and most other supports on dollars, electricity, and more, they have essentially paved the way for the government to possibly engage in reckless borrowing.
Odok argues that the borrowing frenzy will saddle future generations with a huge debt burden, asserting that this move will merely exacerbate existing national issues.
He conveyed his sorrow over the extensive impacts of removing the fuel subsidy, which include heightened inflation, increased poverty, and a rise in unemployment.
The cost of living has surged dramatically, with the prices for essential goods and services increasing rapidly. Additionally, the removal of government subsidies has resulted in higher instances of fuel smuggling, a rise in crime rates, and job losses within the informal sector.
It’s ironic that eliminating fuel subsidies, intended to rescue our economy, has instead caused increased hardship and uncertainty.
