The All Progressives Congress (APC) has reaffirmed its determination to secure victory in Abia and Enugu states during the upcoming 2027 general elections.
The party emphasized its significant progress in the South-East region and expressed confidence in its ability to clinch control of these states in the next electoral cycle.
During the APC South-East stakeholder’s meeting in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State, the national vice chairman, Ijeoma Arodiogu, highlighted the party’s successful negotiations with four Labour Party House of Representatives members in Enugu State who are set to defect to the APC.

Arodiogu also mentioned the influx of opposition party leaders in Abia State, including former Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Chinedu Orji, into the APC ranks.
The party’s goal is to secure a significant majority in the South-East states, aiming for an impressive 80-90% victory in the 2027 presidential election.
Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, urged the people of the South-East to maintain their trust in the APC administration, citing President Bola Tinubu’s contributions to the region through appointments and infrastructure development.
