The rumoured resignation of Abdullahi Adamu, the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has generated controversy.
Since Sunday night, talk has focused on Adamu’s purported resignation, although neither the party nor the Progressive Governors Forum have confirmed it.
However, according to Daily Trust, Adamu submitted his resignation letter on Sunday night.
The party chairman handed his letter of resignation to the Presidential Villa in Abuja, according to a source cited in the story.
According to reports, the president’s chief of staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, received the resignation letter at 4 p.m. on Sunday.
On July 18 and 19, 2023, Abuja will host the National Executive Committee and Caucus of the APC.
Prior to the NEC, the party is anticipated to conduct a meeting of its National Working Committee (NWC).
The party’s National Vice Chairman for the North West, Salihu Lukman, and Adamu have been engaged in a constant conflict.
In addition to accusing Adamu of engaging in corruption, Lukman also claims that Adamu violated the party constitution by serving as the only administrator.
He charged that the Adamu leadership wasted the $30 billion earned from the sale of ballots for the 2023 elections.
