Suspected bandits have kidnapped and killed the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bako Bala, in Suru Local Government Area of ​​Kebbi State.

According to Zaidu Bala, Special Adviser to the Kebbi State Governor on Television and Radio, the gunmen attacked Bala in his hometown.

They kidnapped him, shot him and seriously injured him. He was later found lying in a pool of blood.

Bala was rushed to the Federal Medical Centre in Birnin Kebbi where medical staff tried to save his life. Sadly, he died on Wednesday from gunshot wounds.

Kebbi state continues to suffer from persistent insecurity, particularly banditry.

In a related incident, bandits allegedly kidnapped another person in Matseri village, Bunza Local Government Area of ​​the state. A young man, currently undergoing treatment at the Federal Medical Centre, Birnin Kebbi, was also shot in the attack.

Attempts to reach the Kebbi State Police Command spokesman, Nafiu Abubakar, for a comment on the incident were unsuccessful.
