APC Leaders: Don’t Turn South West into Theatre of War

APC leaders urge protesters not to turn South West into a theatre of war. Learn more about their call for peace.

The Southwest Executive Committee of the governing All Progressives Congress (APC) has urged for peace in their region, imploring Nigerians to prevent it from becoming a battleground.

It was also mentioned that the current troubles plaguing Nigeria will soon be replaced by a rewarding livelihood for everyone.

At an unplanned gathering of the zonal executive committee in Akure, Ondo State, the APC leaders issued this plea.

The appeal for caution was accompanied by a plea to Nigerians, urging them to exercise patience with the current administration.

The party issued a statement through National Vice Chairman, Isaac Kekemeke and Zonal Secretary Vincent Bewaji, requesting all South Westerners both domestically and abroad to prevent the use of their region as a battleground or hub for criminal activity during violent demonstrations.

The Nigerians were implored to exhibit endurance towards the temporary suffering and discomforts, with reassurance that before long, they would pave way for a significant improvement in the living conditions of all citizens.

According to the communique, “The party acknowledges that every citizen of Nigeria has a constitutional right to peacefully protest and voice their opinions on government policies in our region.”

The gathering in the area acknowledges President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration for taking significant and impressive measures towards creating a fresh socio-economic path for Nigeria, with the ultimate goal of bringing prosperity and abundance to all Nigerians.
