Renowned Senator Barau Jibrin from the nation’s North West has been urged by Adamu Garba, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), to be considered for the position of Senate President.
His remarks follow Jibrin, the senator who represents Kano North’s senatorial constituency, declaring his desire to run for Senate President.
Jibrin should be chosen as the Senate President for the 10th Assembly, in Garba’s opinion, due to his skill and contribution to Sen. Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s win in the presidential election.
He clarified that the 8th Assembly can assess Jibrin’s aptitude relative to the other candidates in a variety of fields of human effort.
He asserts that the senator from Kano will implement the administration of national unity once he assumes the office of Senate President.
The majority of Senate candidates, in my opinion, recognise that Sen. Barau Jibrin is the only one with the necessary qualifications, Garba stated. How come I said that? In 1999, this man’s political career began in the national parliament.
Because of the right framework of working connections with the administration, “The Red Chamber has been more organised than it has ever been since 1999. And if we have this capable leadership that propels our success, why can’t we give Sen. Barau Jibrin control over the Senate President’s Office so that we can have a coordinated, better structured, and accountable government that satisfies Nigerians’ needs and aspirations?
“As a result, in my opinion, Sen. Barau Jibrin is the best qualified, particularly in light of his professional background in public service and his efforts as the Senate’s top ranking member.
“In the same election, same persons, same method, same INEC, same BVAS, in an election held on the same day, inside the same state, Sen. Orji Uzor Kalu donated meagerly Just 8000 votes, but got 40 something thousand votes to himself. How exactly do you make a comparison like that?
“If you go to Sen. Godswill Akpabio, from the South South, there are allegations from many sources that Senator Godswill Akpabio is mulling the idea of giving up his quest for a ministerial job.”
