The All Progressives Congress, APC, has established a seven-member Governorship Screening Committee under the National Working Committee, NWC, to evaluate potential candidates in preparation for the party’s primary scheduled for April 20.
The committee was officially inaugurated by the party’s Deputy National Organising Secretary, Nze Duru, in Abuja on Friday.
Duru emphasized the importance of conducting the screening process diligently, with discipline, and in a friendly manner.
He urged the committee members to work tirelessly to complete the screening within the set timeframe, mentioning that the Appeal Committee would begin its work immediately after the aspirants’ screening.

Duru assured the committee of the secretariat’s support in facilitating the necessary requirements and transitioning responsibilities to the Appeal Committee.
The committee, led by former Deputy Governor of Gombe, Mr. Joshua Lidani, with Bimbo Daramola as Secretary, was officially inaugurated.
Duru highlighted the mandatory nature of screening aspirants before primary elections, as stipulated in the party’s constitution, and emphasized the significance of the screening process for the 16 aspirants vying for the Ondo state governorship election.
