The All Progressives Congress, APC, secured victory in the elections conducted in all 11 local government areas of Gombe State on Saturday, as announced by the Chairman of the Gombe State Independent Electoral Commission, Saidu Shehu.
The APC emerged triumphant in areas such as Kaltungo and Shongom, where it faced no opposition.
During the collation and announcement of results, it was revealed that only five out of the 19 registered political parties fielded candidates in the election, namely the APC, Peoples Democratic Party, Accord Party, Zenith Labour Party, and Young Progressives Party.
Shehu emphasized that the APC clinched victory in all 11 local government areas, including those where they ran unopposed.

The other political parties did not present candidates for the councillorship positions, resulting in the APC candidates being declared as winners.
Among the successful candidates were Sani Haruna in Gombe LGA, Dr. Ahmed Doho in Kwami LGA, Ibrahim Jatau in Balanga LGA, Egla Idris in Billiri LGA, Mohammed Danladi in Akko LGA, and Shuaibu Adamu in Funakaye LGAs.
Additionally, Iliya Suleiman in Kaltungo LGA, Abubakar Hassan in Yalmatu Deba LGA, Binta Bello in Shongom, Adamu Mohammed in Dukku, and Babangida Adamu in Nafada emerged victorious.
Governor Muhammadu Yahaya, who cast his vote at the Yahaya Umar polling unit 010, called on the unsuccessful candidates to support the winners and unite for the betterment of the state.
He emphasized the importance of maintaining peace and good behavior, encouraging the people to show solidarity towards the elected officials to ensure effective governance.
Governor Yahaya expressed confidence in the future progress of the state, highlighting the positive atmosphere during the election process and the overall satisfaction of the people with the conduct of the elections.
