In the state’s recently ended local government council election, the ruling All Progressives Congress, or APC, won all 17 local government chairperson posts.
Additionally, the party gained every one of the state’s 178 council seats.
At the commission’s headquarters in Damaturu on Sunday, Dr. Mamman Muhammad, the chairman of the Yobe State Independent Electoral Commission, or YOSIEC, made this announcement.
He announced, “In the local government elections, the APC has won all 178 council seats and all 17 chairmanships.”

The results of all 178 of the ward council members had been received, taken into account, verified, and approved by the commission, he said.
Dr. Muhammad expressed his gratitude to the voters for guaranteeing a free and tranquil election process.
The PDP, or People’s Democratic Party, refrained from participating in the election.
Prior to the election, the party had warned that it might not be free, fair, and trustworthy through its Organising Secretary, Mohammed Sulayman.
