In Kwara State, the 16 local government areas held local council elections on Saturday, with the ruling All Progressives Congress, or APC, emerging victorious.
The APC won all 16 of the local government areas in the state, according to Muhammad Baba Okanla, the chairman of the state independent electoral commission, who also declared the results of the elections in Ilorin.
“First, I’d like to express our heartfelt appreciation for your tireless efforts and commitment to factual reporting,” he stated at a press conference in Ilorin.
“The legitimacy and openness of our election process have been greatly enhanced by your expertise.

Five political parties participated in the election process, which took place across the state’s 16 local government areas and 193 wards: Accord, APC, APM, PDP, and SDP.
“I’m happy to share the results with you after our election officers and returning officers from the field filed their results.
“The All Progressives Congress (APC) has won every category after careful compilation and validation.
To be more precise, the APC has gained the chairmanships of 16 Local Government Areas. Additionally, the party has won every one of the 193 council seats.
“We applaud Kwara State residents for turning out in large numbers to exercise their right to vote in a peaceful manner and political parties for their dedication to a poll that saw no significant casualties.
“We would also like to express our gratitude to security agencies for their professional efforts in maintaining peace and order throughout the voting process.”
