Lalong praised President Muhammadu Buhari for his unwavering backing of APC presidential candidate throughout electioneering.
Following Bola Tinubu’s victory in the February 25 presidential election, the All Progressives Congress disbanded its Presidential Campaign Council.
In order to support Tinubu and his running mate, Senator Kashim Shettima, in the run-up to the 2023 elections, the ruling party established the PCC last October.
The PCC Director General, Governor Simon Lalong, and the council’s Secretary, James Faleke, all signed a statement that announced the dissolution.
Lalong praised President Muhammadu Buhari for his unwavering support of APC presidential candidate throughout the electioneering campaign, according to the statement.
The governor of Plateau State also expressed gratitude to all PCC members and party supporters for their tireless efforts in ensuring the president-elect’s overwhelming win.
“Since the campaign council got started in September 2022, we have seen an extraordinary, persistent, and enthusiastic mobilization of our members across the country and abroad to win the majority of popular votes for the Tinubu/Shettima presidential ticket. With our arduously obtained win, the voyage has been worthwhile. The leaders and participants in the various campaign directorates deserve special recognition, according to all of our members, Lalong added.
“We want to thank President Muhammadu Buhari (GCFR) from the bottom of our hearts for his steadfast support and strong leadership throughout the campaign. Without his unwavering focus, dedication, and honesty, we could not have succeeded to this degree.
“However, we have determined that dissolving our council with immediate effect is in the best interest of the campaign and its stakeholders.
“This is vital to get us ready for President-elect Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration’s May 29, 2023, inauguration. All of our efforts and endeavors must be consistent with the guiding principles of the transition into a new period of Renewed Hope, which is currently under way.
“We hope that each of you will continue to support causes that you care about and to participate in Nigeria’s democratic process. When we all engage in politics with patriotism, our democracy is stronger.
We want to take this chance to thank you one more for your help, commitment, and labor.
