Joe Igbokwe claims that the APC is ignoring El-Rufai’s intelligence and expertise. Learn more about his statement and its implications.

Joe Igbokwe, a leader within the All Progressives Congress (APC), criticized his own party for its treatment of Nasir El-Rufai, ex-governor of Kaduna State.

Igbokwe expressed regret that the APC disregarded El-Rufai without reflecting on how the party achieved its present status.

Igbokwe characterized the former governor on his Facebook page as a bold leader, instrumental figure and coordinator.

According to Igbokwe, the APC Nigeria leadership’s disregard for Mallam El-Rufai is inexplicable given his intellectual prowess, courageous mentality and organizational skills. He further stated that ignoring such a valuable asset would be unwise as it flies in the face of why they are where they currently stand.

Since President Bola Tinubu’s assumption of office, El-Rufai – a founding member of the APC – has been marginalized.

El-Rufai was put forward by Tinubu as a candidate for ministerial position, but he did not pass the Senate’s clearance process.

Governor Sani Uba’s administration initiated an investigation against El-Rufai’s successor, focusing on accusations of financial misconduct during his time in office.
