The Plateau State chapter of the All Progressive Congress (APC) has vehemently opposed the forceful inauguration of only nine out of the 16 elected members of the Assembly, denouncing it as a blatant disregard for democratic norms and values.

Rufus Bature, the state chairman of the party, expressed his dismay at the inauguration, labeling it as a democratic aberration that is unsustainable in the long run.

The Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Gabriel Dewan, swore in nine APC lawmakers, leaving the remaining seven members unsworn.

Bature emphasized the importance of all 16 APC lawmakers being sworn in to ensure the completion of the Assembly.

He also demanded the reinstatement of the 17 elected local government chairmen, whose removal was deemed unconstitutional by the Supreme Court.
