The All Progressives Congress (APC), which recently elected Abdullahi Ganduje as its national chairman, has been made fun of by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
PDP claimed that the APC picked a man with questionable morals to lead the party.
The 12th National Executive Council, or NEC, of the APC met in Abuja on Thursday, and Ganduje was chosen to serve as its National Chairman.
After Abdullahi Adamu resigned, Ganduje rose to prominence.
The PDP’s national publicity secretary, Debo Ologunagba, disagreed, claiming that the selection of Ganduje has demonstrated that the APC is a hotbed of corruption and a shelter for thieves.
Ologunagba charged that the APC was callous in choosing Ganduje in a statement that he signed.
The following is a portion of the statement: “The APC’s selection of Dr. Ganduje as its National Chairman, in spite of the vile corruption and bribery allegations against him in the public domain, further confirms that the APC is a cesspool of corruption and a haven for thieves, bribe takers, and treasury looters.
“By electing Ganduje, infamously known as “Gandola” by Nigerians due to the infamous video of him stuffing his gown with US dollar bills as bribe, allegedly from a contractor, while serving as governor of Kano State, the APC has further proven that it is a disgusting party made up of embezzlers and charlatans.
“It also highlights APC’s impunity and insensitivity to the requirements of honesty, integrity, and moral rectitude required of public office holders,” the author writes.
