APC chieftain Nabena, cautions Tinubu against taking sides in Rivers and Ondo
Yekini Nabena, a former APC deputy national publicity secretary, has cautioned President Bola Tinubu against picking a side in the political unrest in the states of Rivers and Ondo.
Regarding political happenings in the states of Ondo and Rivers, Nabena stated in a statement released on Wednesday that the President and the ruling All Progressives Conference (APC) must uphold the Constitution.

As the nation’s father, he admonished the President not to meddle in Ondo politics.
“President Bola Tinubu must not play politics with the two states,” Nabena declared. He has to prove that he is a democratic leader rather than an autocrat.
“President Tinubu should not play politics with the states of River and Ondo, as he upholds the principles of equality of rights and political or social equality for all people.”
“At this moment, the states of Rivers and Ondo must recognise and uphold our nation’s Constitution.
“The National Working Committee of our party does not have the authority to dissolve an elected chairman and his executive in Rivers, hence the All Progressives Congress (APC) should carefully review the party Constitution.
“We in the APC should be aware of what we do because we are democratic and not autocrats. If the proper thing is not done immediately away, the consequences of this conduct in River State could put our party in jeopardy in the near future. If not, the previous 2019 events—litigations here and there—will recur.
