Samuel Anyanwu, the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) nominee for governor of Imo State in the recently concluded gubernatorial election, has returned to work at the party’s national secretariat.
PDP National Secretary Anyanwu lost the election to Hope Uzodinma, the candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress, or APC.

According to OBASANJO NEWS24, Anyanwu has continued to serve as the party’s national secretary in spite of actions taken by some party members who demanded his resignation before the election on Saturday.
Anyanwu expressed gratitude to National Secretariat employees on Tuesday for their support throughout the election process.
According to OBASANJO NEWS24, Anyanwu received 71,503 votes in the election, while Uzodinma received 540,308 votes to win.
