Iniesta’s legacy in football is solidified by his remarkable achievements with Barcelona, where he secured numerous La Liga titles and Champions League trophies.

His extraordinary vision, passing prowess, and technical skill allowed him to dominate games and earn a place among the greatest midfielders in history. Iniesta will always be remembered for his crucial goal in the 2010 World Cup final that clinched Spain’s first-ever World Cup victory.

“Football is my passion and always will be, so I can’t stay away from it. I’m currently working towards completing my coaching diploma as part of my ongoing education, which is the next step for me.”

“I’ll make an effort to return and do a great job, but it won’t be by chasing after the ball; it’ll come from another role,” he added.

Iniesta rose through the ranks of Barcelona’s renowned La Masia academy and debuted with the first team in 2002 at just 18 years old. He became a key figure in their midfield until his departure 16 years later.

He secured nine La Liga titles and four Champions League victories with Barcelona, but his most memorable moment arrived in the 2010 World Cup final when he scored the decisive goal against the Netherlands during extra time.

After departing Barcelona in 2018, Iniesta played for five years with the Japanese club Vissel Kobe before spending one final season with Emirates Club in the UAE.
