Following the goalkeeper’s performance in his team’s 3-2 Champions League victory over Napoli on Tuesday, Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has supported Kepa Arrizabalaga.
This summer, Arrizabalaga joined Real Madrid on loan from Chelsea to fill in for the injured Thibaut Courtois.
The Spaniard got his team’s Champions League group-stage matchup against Napoli off to an expected start.
After failing to deal with a corner kick from Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in the 19th minute of the match, his positioning came under scrutiny.
Leo Skiri Ostigard scored the opening goal after Arrizabalaga attempted to punch it out but failed miserably.
During the game, Federico Valverde, Jude Bellingham, and Vinicius Junior all scored goals for Ancelotti’s team.
Ancelotti commented on Arrizabalaga’s performance, saying (via MadridXtra on X): “Sometimes Kepa suffers with crosses because he is not very tall, but nobody is flawless.
Not even myself, and I think I’m quite handsome.
