The Anambra State administration has disregarded a social media link about youth empowerment in the state as fraudulent.

The fictitious empowerment scheme offers 5,000 young people in the state financial empowerment worth N2 billion.

However, Mr. Christian Aburime, the state governor’s press secretary, said that the link was phoney and did not originate from the administration.

“It has come to the attention of the Anambra State Government that a fraudulent message is circulating on various platforms, falsely claiming that Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, CFR, is offering a N2 billion naira empowerment grant to 5,000 Anambra youths,” read a press release signed by Aburime, refuting this.

Along with a link, the fake letter exhorts recipients to apply for the mentioned grant and spread the word so that others may also profit.

“The people are hereby informed that this message is a clear scam and the Anambra State Government hereby disclaims it in its entirety.”

Under an initiative called 1 Youth, 2 Skills, the state government has provided young people in the state with skill-building training and financial support to launch enterprises.
